In an economy that is still uncertain, what is more important than protecting the good credit rating that you have worked so hard to achieve. Checking out your credit rating on a regular basis should be done at least once a year. Fortunately, today you don’t have to pay for your credit rating information. You can, because of a federal law in the United States, receive your free annual credit report one time each year so that you can check out the activity that has taken place on your credit rating and find out if there is any type of incorrect information on your credit report.
If you do have incorrect information on your credit report, you can take immediate steps to remove that information and see that it is corrected to protect your credit. The advent of the free credit reports is an important step in helping all of us to review and fix our credit report before it damages our ability to achieve loans and other things. Make sure that you review your credit report at least one time per year.
